I have a black sister…

No really I have a black sister.  Actually she’s a beautiful light brown.  She’s my blood sister.  Now the where’s, why for’s and how come’s are irrelevant.  But I love this little sister of mine.  She’s my favorite sister right now.  I also have a brother and another sister (both irrelevantly white) that are probably worthy of their own blogs but not necessarily for the same reason.

We don’t often get to spend much time quality time together.  Between the kids, our jobs and the fact that she lives way across town, what time we usually spend together is kid focused.   She has her hands full with her own kids and taking on the responsibility of her boyfriends kids.  But this weekend, we talked Granny into watching the kids so we could go out for a little while.

She starts out about giving me a lecture about how I am not her big sister and that we are just two ‘bitches’ hanging out.  She tries to argue with me she should drive.  Her argument being she’s half my age.  Her math is not good.  She’s 10 years younger which is really one of the unique things about why we are so close.  I moved out of the house when she was 7 so we didn’t spend much time together as children.   I (wisely) convince her otherwise to let me drive as I know Dallas better.  Then I smack her in the head for calling me old.

Since we don’t go out very often we’re eager to get the evening started and we head out early (before the sunset).  Of course, all the clubs have yet to open.  We’ve decided to do a club because we’re going to see who can dance better.  I’ve already beaten her a basketball I need to school her younger, hip, cool, black ass on my dancing skills.  Since we can’t find anything open, we head to a small sports bar and partake in a few libations.

A few under the belt, she must point out she’s one up on me.  Didn’t pay much attention to the bill cause I can’t remember exactly how many we had.  We make it over to the club and she orders another.  Bartender says $12.50.  I let him know I didn’t order anything he says I know that’s just hers!  What the hell!

I think the drinks have kicked in.  Although she’s normally good natured and friendly, she now positively ebullient.   You know its going to be a fun night when you have to utter the phrase…”Tammy quit smelling the Mexican!”

I won’t go into the little fall on the dance floor or the fact that it took us several stops to get home (it wasn’t travel sickness)  but this was the most fun I’ve had in a long time.   My sister is just so funny.  She’s a wonderful, selfless, considerate and beautiful sister and I love her to death.  I am so lucky I have a black sister!
